Black Radio

Black radio popped into my head for a minute. Martin Luther King Jr. Once talked about how important black radio was to the community. Black radio pushed music which was a part of our culture. It also got the word out about social events. In the past black talk radio was manned by journalists and or thinkers. It's ridiculous that there are so few women in black radio, but that's a different blog. Now black radio is almost entirely manned by male comedians. The message from the owners of radio stations is clear, our ethnic group is a joke. When a happy event happens, our radio hosts tell jokes. When a tragic event happens, our radio hosts tell jokes. Black people seem to want to laugh all the time. Maybe that is why we are always crying. We cry for our children slaughtered in the streets. We cry for our adults shackled in slave cells for decades. if you are black and you feel bad for any reason, just turn on the radio and laugh until you feel better. That is the African - American way. DONATE
