Siblings

Siblings

Here we are
On the way to the shelter
My siblings and I
Different fathers
But that same mama
We are on the train
With bags in hand
Guarding our hand-me-downs
Given to us by mama’s bosses
You know, clothes to good
To turn into cleaning rags
We quietly eye each other
With extreme caution
We will only give enough
To receive at some later date
Such is life with a family

That lives hand to mouth

Silver Lining Playbook. David O. Russel

When I sat down to watch Silver Lining Playbook I thought that I would see a sad movie about a person struggling with mental illness. This film was one of the funniest films that I have ever seen. The two main characters were in mental hospitals, but they were more sane than the rest of the people in the community.  The male lead’s parents suffer from OCD and anxiety. His best friend is on the verge of a nervous break down. Yet no one in the community thinks that they are insane. It was the best running joke of the film. This movie also shows how soft we have become as a society. The main characters had traumatic things happen to them and reacted in an extreme way. This is basic science. Every action has an equal or greater reaction. I am constantly being told that I am too hard on people when I am distancing myself from those of low principles. I enjoyed Silver Lining Playbook. Remember to watch what you see.
